A Homestuck fan sits at their computer. It just so happens that today, a day
of no previously established importance, is probably not this fan's birthday.
But it might as well be, for they have discovered the Furthest Ring. And we're
not talking about Horrorterrors, we're talking about roleplaying.

TFR is a roleplaying site for Homestuck fans, though crossovers are welcome.
It is chat room-based, letting the user connect to many others at a time. There
are many other features, but those are the basics! If you are familiar with
Trollmegle or Pesterchum and its multi-person memos, you'll get the hang of TFR
real quick and probably make a lot of friends in the process. Or at least that's
what we hope. Dang.
Go ahead and register an account. Without one, you won't be able to access
the roleplaying platform (which is really, just a formal way of saying "chatbox".
Because that's really all the damn thing is and I'm not trying to hide it). The
registration process is put into place to avoid spam bots or other abusive
users. Do keep in mind that users under 13 should not be allowed to use the
site without supervision, and users under 18 should not access the boards
marked "NSFW" or "NQSFW".
Rules
- These rules are in place across all rooms.
- Users under 13 should not be allowed to use the site without supervision.
- Respect the staff (the collective term for administrators and moderators)
and do not deliberately disobey them. Civilly discussing an issue is another
story.
- Please be respectful to other users. If someone is bothering you, there is
an ignore function to ignore the user. Do not abuse this function.
- No user is obligated to roleplay with any other user. A user may request a
roleplay be postponed, moved, or dropped completely at their leisure. This is
meant for fun, folks.
- Do not enter the platform to stir up trouble. It will get you banned.
- Follow the rules of the respective room you enter. Do not deliberately
break the rules of the room. Use them for what they're for.
- Do not speak any language other than English.
- If you have a question, ask a moderator!
> User: Read about the rooms.

How to use the chat
The chat has a help function, and you can view it by clicking on the little
"?" down in the bottom right corner. This will tell you the basics.
- After logging in, you can join a different room by picking a room from the
drop down, or typing it manually by typing "/join {room name}".
- You can create a private room by selecting "[Your username]" from the drop
down, or by typing "/join".
- You can bring up a list of all rooms available to you by typing "/list".
- You can change what nickname you show up as in the chat by typing "/nick
{desired name}".
- To invite a specific user to join you, type "/invite {their username}" and
it will send an invite to them, requesting they join whatever room you are
currently in.
- Roleplaying is generally conducted by use of action commands. Typing "/me
" or "/action " can accomplish this. Messages submitted outside of
an action are considered dialogue, and to denote that you are speaking out of
character, text between punctuation such as ((this)) is universally
understood.
- To roll dice, simply type "/roll". To roll different amounts of dice, or
to change the number of sides of dice you are rolling (the default is 1 D6)
type "/roll D" -- for example, /roll 8d8 will let you roll 8
8-sided dice.
- You can whisper to other users. To do this, type "/msg {their username}
{message text}" and only that user will see it. It works across rooms, too, so
the message will send even if you are in separate rooms.
- Typing "/describe {their username} {message text}" will send an action
command via whisper.
- If you don't want to type in "/msg {their username} {message text}" or
"/describe {their username} {message text}" every time you want to whisper to
someone, you can open a private channel by typing "/query {their username}".
With this function, every message you send will be whispered to them
automatically. Actions are still executed with /me or /action, and still
automatically send as whispers. To close the private channel, simply type
"/query".
- To ignore a bothersome user, type "/ignore {their username}". Typing the
same message with the same username will un-ignore them. You can also type
"/ignore" to bring up a list of all users you are currently ignoring.
- Typing "/whereis {their username}" will tell you which room a specific
user is located, and you can bring up a list of all online users regardless of
location by typing "/who". To list the users in a specific room, type "/who
{room name}".
- To log out, type "/quit" or press the log out button.
Other functions can be controlled by going into the chat settings, which is
the little tool icon next to the "?". Here you can change the volume, toggle the
option to persist font colours so you don't have to add them to each message,
and so on. You can also turn auto-scrolling off or back on again by pressing the
">>" button.
